The Innovation Dialogue is a continuous program of discussion and debate on innovation policies in Brazil and China. The participants include policymakers, financial institutions, researchers and firms concerned with innovation policy and the reorganization of international production relations. It is inspired on Innovation Dialogue initiatives already underway between the United States and China and Germany and China and was drawn reflecting the development priorities of Brazil and China.

The present global economic cycle of slow growth and increased competition for value added has revived the debate regarding the role of innovation policy. The Dialogue program reflects this concern and addresses questions such as the fronteirs of innovation, new roles for public policy, investment trends and the role of State and market in defining innovation targets. It purports to create the basis for a continuous interchange amongst policy makers, researchers and firms from both countries.
